How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Today I'm working on a timeline of events for all the ponies and major events in their lives. I realized that if I'm not careful, I'm going to end up with some serious contradictions and I really don't want that to happen. Visualizing everything is really helpful

So one correction that has come out of this. I think there have been times I said Luau was the oldest when it has to be Rook who's oldest for many reasons. So for those who I led astray, my apologies.

Also note that even now, I'm finding that some of my characters are writing themselves. Especially Luau. I keep trying to make her "Not Pinkie", but she keeps pulling back and acting Pinkie-like. I have NO control over that pony

Yes, it's very useful to make a good timeline of events and lists of what the characters are and what they accomplished. Also, making good checklists of what you need to do or what to verify is important. Oh, and make sure they are up to date, so a checklist of checklists is a good idea too!

Seriously, I just approve the idea. I had to do the same for my own first artistic project, just to make sure I won't seriously screw up somewhere, so I understand the need.

I doubt any author could control a character such as Luau, but props for making the attempt.

As to the necessity of a timeline and visualization, both are life-savers! (They keep some headaches away, too!

) I learned that lesson the hard way and don't intend to make the mistake again. A timeline will definitely benefit the story and its background story branches without letting those branches become as tangled as terraced ivy vines.

The timeline sounds like a worth endeavor. As for having no control over Luau, well, that does sound rather Pinkie-like. But I do see differences between them. For example, Luau seems more organized than Pinkie. She's also much more apt to focus on the task at hand, whereas Pinkie's mind can sometimes wander.
