Twilight's Studies - Crabapple by Nimaru Twilight's Studies - Crabapple by Nimaru

Brace yourself... This one is a bit heavier than I've gone for a while.

You already know part of Crabapple's story from the "Gathering the Elements" series, but here it is filled in. His Nursemare is named Sunny Ray and is a kind and simple pony. She has a bit of a story to her, but I won't give it away just yet (though you're going to get a fair bit of it here anyway).

Crabapple's Mother's name is Orangecicle. Her talent is calm decision-making. She would be best suited to negotiation or mediation, but instead uses her ability to feign friendship with others until she gets what she wants.

Crabapple's Father's name is Blood Orange. His talent is boxing. He'd be best suited to being a protector or guard or even boxing coach, but instead he uses it to torture his trade victims. Ponies that he's outmaneuvered and who are desperate are given the chance to fight him for release from their contract. None have won.

Here you can see teen-Luau helping Crabapple learn some things :D

I threw a little preview of how Feather Fern and Crabapple met... I'm guessing you can get most of the story from the scene.

EDIT: So... yeah.. I think I definitely got the point across about how cruel and nasty Crabapple's parents were. For those who've asked if they can kill one or both, just keep in mind that things definitely take a turn once Crabapple becomes Prime Minister.

For one, all the nobles were under a lot more scrutiny. For two, Balanced Budget's task under Crabapple was to create an economic system that didn't destroy the nobility, but made it nearly impossible for them to continue the abuse they got away with in the past.

Heh, I'm like Crabapple.

Just a quick question, if these are the original elements, than why is Celestia here, considering she must have been a bearer at one point in order to use them against Discord and later Nightmare Moon?

Celestia is an original element too. She was the element of Love/magic.

Wait, what about Luna?

:iconnimaru:
Luna was Nightmare Moon. So she never bore any elements.

Except she did, she was one of the one's who bore elements against Discord.

Obviously, she wasn't Nightmare Moon until after that happened.

Oh... Well I guess I don't understand what your question is then.

Luna and Celestia are both bearers of elements in the show, and this is the story of the original bearers, correct? If so, than why isn't Luna a bearer if this takes place after Celestia became a princess? I'm haven't finished the arc yet, and all I know about this fanon is from that, so I might be missing something.

When Luna and Celestia used the elements, they were jewels. They used them and that was it. But fighting Nightmare Moon was a two-part plan. Banish her for 1000 years until the elements could grow stronger due to the efforts of the bearers. So the idea of Element Bearers doesn't even make sense until the very moment of banishment.

His parents just kicked him out, while he was a child? That's beyond assholery.

Just out of curiosity, would there be a story showing this turn of events for when Crabapple became Prime Minister? Just wanted to see what happened when he did. ^^; You know, for what falls under:
