It took me several weeks to make this and I'm proud of the effort. I've made several web articles explaining the fandom and fighting the stereotypes and ignorance, but haters just won't take the time. So I figured; why not a highly colorful infographic?
I avoided using ponies more than absolutely necessary because the point was to show people how other hobbies and fan groups act just like we do. Every complaint they have, is something we can find in their group too. And this infographic can be your everpresent reminder to them of that!
Being a trekkie for years (my entire life) before getting into MLP:FiM kind of prepared me a little, I think. It at least prepared me for the fat-guy-with-no-life stereotype. I even got laughed at once by a girl I liked for liking Star Trek.
Anyway, good job. It was fun to read and didn't come across as overly-defensive.
I love this, you made this great. Well done! You really make good points, what's important is a job and a hobby. A big part of your life! Stay inspire everyone, enjoy your favorite stuff you like and don't let the haters put you down. Like what you like, what makes you happy. Do it.
You make a good point with the rule 34, it's everywhere. Not only ponies, but other stuff too. 0_0
Yup it's ordinary for an hobby to collection stuff.
People could watch anything they like, it doesn't matter about age, gender.
And remember haters, if you don't like it, then don't search it up or talk about it, move on and look for something you like. Stop wasting your time.
Cyber bullying is for cowards, it's everywhere on the internet!
Never judge a book by its cover! Or a title, show, music, etc... and etc...!
So you know I do not think that is bad, I am just curious is all. I am not what one would call a brony basher.
I remember many months ago I watched the first few episodes one time. I picked apart each one for its faults, but now that I look back on it I was more doing a rifftrax (Making jokes during the show, which I do with almost everything I watch) than actually watching it. Maybe I should watch it again for real this time....
Odd thing, it actually has a surprisingly good sense of humor.
And I can see your point by that link. Without a doubt, the art is quite nice.
And a freak? Like my dad says, "The most insulting thing you can call me is normal."
But other than that, pretty great.
And believe me when I say that the ONLY difference between Whovians and Bronies is that the Doctor Who fandom has had 50 years to grow, whereas the MLP fandom sprang up practically overnight. And even then, Whovians have grown exponentially over the last eight years since the show came back.
