I had no idea how popular the last set was going to be, but I learned a lot from the experience.

For this one, I want to FIRST make it clear that these are just my vector screen traces from the show so the art entirely belongs to Hasbro/Lauren Faust. That said, I took several hours to trace the cycle and clean it up as much as I could by just using screenshots.

This time, I included a whole package of materials:

  1. An animated gif of the full walk cycle

  2. The Photoshop file used to make the gif in which every layer is one frame of the walk cycle. You can use these Photoshop objects one at a time if you need just one pose or you can use them together if you want to do animation. Each layer is an Illustrator object so if you want to edit them, you can doubleclick the layer to send it back to Illustrator for edits.

  3. The original Illustrator file I used to make the traces. It contains the same data as the Photoshop file, but you can see and manipulate all of them at once. Note that the sizing will remain consistent between all files as much as I'm able.

  4. EDIT: By request, I've included a PNG file with all the poses on a dark grey background so they're easy to cut out and use for people who don't have Photoshop or compatible programs.

To download, use the download file link on the right. It's a ZIP file (about 20Mb)

If you want the run cycle (currently Illustrator only), it's here:

I STILL can't figure out how to (or if I even can) animate in my version of photoshop. Nonetheless, these vectors are very informative and will be a great help in reference for when the time comes for me to attempt my own animation. :)

Click "Window" then "Animate". You'll see a bar on the bottom and each box in the bar is one frame of the animation. There are several good Youtube tutorials about it
