I bet you all thought there was going to be some sort of epic story of Iron Strike realizing his mistake and going after Luau and such... pfft. First that would have been entirely too predictable and second, it wouldn't have been very Luau-like.
And to think I had delusions of being able to finish this LAST week. It took so much time to get the expressions right and try to represent everything that is going on here. I hope it all makes sense. There's a lot of imagry and metaphor going on here as I try to express the lingering doubts and self-worth issues Iron Strike is suffering from due to his Father and past girls he was interested in (but had no chance with).
This is based on personal experience to a degree and also represents many other people I'm sure. Let me say this, friends: if anything is to keep you from being happy in this world, don't let it be you.
P.S. If I haven't named him before, I decided to call Iron Strike's dad Landslide.
*sniffles* whyyy are you tugging on my heartstrings! Such ... a... beautiful.. comic... there. are. no. words! Luau when she's sad... there. are. no. words to describe how she appeals to everyone's empathy, how she's so adorable!
And I really like how she fell asleep during that last bit Dx I cry myself to sleep sometimes... after you cry it's easier to sleep for some reason... my eyes just close... *sniffle*
I'm not ashamed to say that I love this comic and ended up hugging my pillow x.x
