Before you ask, Rose is not mute. She doesn't speak often and not very loudly. This is not an homage to Fluttershy (who is a different element anyway), but rather an integral part of her character.
For those watching closely,you'll see that one of the guards who SHOULD understand magic is oblivious while the other nearly notices Rose. As to why they don't notice the door opening, Rose's technique isn't invisibility, it quiets their mind.
